Our Story
Namvela in Nyanja means
‘we understand.’
We started up our boutique consulting firm, Namvela, because as implementers and researchers with over a decade's experience, we understand the complex challenges that organisations face in implementing health programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
We are a multidisciplinary team of specialists, who support organisations to develop, implement and evaluate sustainable solutions in health programmes, particularly those targeting under-served populations including adolescents, persons with disabilities, rural and low-income groups.
Our expertise includes sexual and reproductive health, HIV, mental health, infectious disease control, non-communicable diseases and behavioural change communication. Our team has provided support to programmes across Sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, Australia and Europe.
We use quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate programmes and unanswered questions in public health. We have conducted a range of formative research projects, impact and process evaluations, with our findings published in peer-reviewed journals.
We conduct market landscaping and fundraising needs assessments to design market positioning, organisational and business development strategies, winning millions of dollars for our clients.
